My husband finally finished up the rest of my work bench. the ‘L’ part was all that was left to do. I need this space for my adventures into new areas of my jewelry interest.I look forward to putting out some new items soon!!

My week ended with a double kayak ride out on clear lake with my husband and kids. I love family day.
The lakes southwest corner is filled with pond lilies getting ready to bloom, and me without my camera!!! We took our kayak right along the edge of it all. I felt like a dragonfly!

The air-conditioning has been put away
The windows are open hurray!
The sticks bugs are in record numbers
Two on every screen
Nuts singing off the roof
Hummingbirds and blue buntings
Fall is on the cusp

Crispy Sweet-Hots

August 17, 2007

Crispy Sweet-Hots, originally uploaded by The Tall Iris.

Dewy grass, stick-bugs and school buses. Early signs of fall.
Kelsey had her first day of high school yesterday. Excitement in the air. She was a rock about it all. I was feeling older and breathing funny. It’s a whole new world for a parent when a child is in high school. Not so much volunteering there. Maybe enough to keep one foot in the door while the rest of my body is at HC.
This summer has been a blurr of activity. It still doesn’t seem real that we did all that we did. We are trying to cram in some summer type stuff before fall completely takes over. Maybe go camping one more time with our friends. Or to a drive-in movie before it gets too cold and of course to clear lake and canoeing.
Before I know it, I’ll be on my way down to southern Indiana for chick weekend!!

Ureys and waheena falls columbia gorge 006

August 10, 2007

The Columbia River Gorge through the Cascade Mountain Range. A must see scenic drive on our way from Oregon to Montana . One of the falls we visited was called Waheena Falls. A bit of a climb to the top but well worth it. the hillside was covered in Maidenhair ferns and Herb Robert Geranium the whole climb up there. Lovely.

Nice to be home. We hit the coming home road with our feet already running and it hasn’t stopped. Friends to visit, parties, getting ready for school errands, meetings, and soccer. Yard work screaming at me and no time until after Art Beat. I feel the need to fold myself in half and hide away for a good amount of time, but I can’t. Too much keeps me moving forward. I guess that’s a good thing. Just looking for some down time.
